It is expected over 5 thousand visitors from Russia, near and far abroad countries to participate in the Annunciation Cathedral opening ceremony in Kazan Kremlin.
On July, 19-24 the Kazan Eparchy will solemnly celebrate the 450th-anniversary. Celebrations are dated for significant day - to finding of Kazan Mother of God icon.
The Annunciation Cathedral is one of the most ancient historical architectural monuments preserved in Kazan. It has been founded in October, 1552 under the order of Tsar Ivan the Terrible and served a cathedral of Kazan Eparchy until the October revolution.
Restoration of the Annunciation Cathedral, no less than restoration of Kul Sharif mosque (it was opened on June, 24) was conducted according to RT President Mintimer Shaimiev decrees, decisions of the RT Government and was carried out basically on donations of citizens.
