Traditional Republican August conference of heads of educational bodies under the title "Education in New Millennium" and devoted to forthcoming anniversary of Kazan opened at the exhibition center "Kazan Fair".
Present conference may by right hold an international status. Representatives of Belarus, Kazakhstan and Germany are invited for the event. All in all about 1000 persons including heads of educational institutions and teachers from Udmurtiya, Moscow, Chelyabinsk and Perm region, Republic of Karelia and Republic of Saha (Yakutia), Nizhni Novgorod will take part in the event.
Welcoming the guests and participants at a solemn opening of conference, the RT Minister of education and sciences Rais Shaikhelislamov noted that in the first day of work the exhibition of innovative training technologies "Education in New Millennium" began to function. The exhibition is focused on strategic character of education and in the certain degree is a tribute to anniversary of our ancient city, - he said.
As guest of honour the member of the Congress of local and regional authorities of the Council of Europe, the member of Parliament of Berlin Gunter Krug has been invited to the conference. He thanked for the invitation and assured that positions of the Council of Europe are very close with aspirations of Tatarstan in new millennium. "I hope that teamwork will help us to support democratic values in new millennium.
